Satanic Panic: A Systemic Delusion

Sponsored CE program for WestCoast Centre for Sex Therapy. A review of an episode of mass hysteria within the mental health professions in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Purported to be a widespread phenomenon, satanic ritual abuse was without external evidence and ultimately turned out to be virtually entirely non-existent. The talk discusses the danger of fad-like enthusiasms within the mental health fields, and how these may be detected and resisted.
